News & Events
ISEEE communicates and promotes the work of the University of Calgary’s Energy and Environment (E&E) researchers, and gives back to the community with several ISEEE events.
ISEEE Conference on the Future of Energy Systems (CAFES)
CAFES will be held at the Westin Hotel in Calgary on November 3 & 4, 2011. ISEEE will bring together key stakeholders (industry, government, non-governmental organizations) and the university research community to interact with internationally renowned experts in energy system thinking.
In the News
ISEEE’s core faculty, fellows and affiliated faculty members frequently make the news for their research and teaching in Energy and Environment areas. Check the In The News section for the most recent media coverage, news releases and on-campus stories.
Seminar and Lecture Series
Each year, ISEEE presents several seminar and lecture series:
- The ISEEE Distinguished Speaker Series brings to Calgary internationally renowned experts in the technology, science, business or policy of energy and the environment for a free public talk, monthly January through April. Thank you to Cenovus Energy whose sponsorship makes this series possible.
- The ISEEE Expert Series serves mainly the Calgary business community with breakfast or lunch-time seminars, presented by Energy & Environment experts working with the University of Calgary/ISEEE. These talks, from September through May at the Calgary Petroleum Club, showcase some of the most recent research and thinking on E&E issues.
- The ISEEE Energy and Environmental Systems (EES) Seminar Series serves mainly the academic community with technical talks on campus, typically on Monday afternoons during the fall and winter academic terms. Speakers are drawn from professors in E&E across campus, experts from industry and government, and visiting researchers from across Canada and around the world.
