The Chair of the Advisory Board is nominated by the President of the U of C and is drawn from outside the university structure. The Board chair is assisted by a co-chair, also designated by the President.
The ISEEE Management Committee will consist primarily of the leaders and representatives of the various ‘centres.’ Depending on the area and stage of development, the ‘centre’ may be a formal Centre, an Institute, a Chair or simply a ‘Group.’ The Management Committee will make use of advice from a Scientific Advisory Committee operating in each of the main ISEEE ‘centres’ or areas.
ISEEE ‘centres’ will be multidisciplinary and will develop synergies through integration with education and public policy programs at the University and other institutions. Centres may be structured quite differently depending on the funding sources and the needs and requirements of the collaborating partners. The common governance features of each ‘centre’ will be the responsibility for the overall research direction of the centre, coordination of research efforts, allocation of resources, coordination of research funding applications, provision of reports to funding organizations, and maintenance of industry and government relations.
