Energy & Environment at the University of Calgary
The University of Calgary has over 160 faculty members who work in research areas relevant to the Energy, Environment and Economy ‘space’.
ISEEE works closely with and in support of affiliated Faculties and Schools at the University of Calgary, to help coordinate and advance the U of C’s Energy & Environment (E&E) initiatives. When opportunities and needs arise, ISEEE draws on this expertise to build multi-disciplinary and interdisciplinary research and teaching initiatives. Many of the ISEEE initiatives are described in other sections of this web site (Research, Students, News and Events). However, there are many other excellent Energy and Environment Initiatives at the U of C that are not directly linked to ISEEE. Links found on this page will provide an overview of most of the major Energy/ Environment /Economy Initiatives at the U of C, some closely linked with ISEEE, others less so. These are presented here as:
-
-
The Research Networks or Institutes located at the U of C but which have a significant engagement of researchers at other universities across Canada, or within the non-university community.
-
Research Centres within the U of C that have engaged 3 or more faculty to work together to build a research team around common goals.
-
Research Groups, typically involving only one or two faculty members to develop expertise in a critical research area. Larger, informal groups of researchers are also included in this classification.
