Graduates looking for accounting jobs will find starting salaries have increased by seven percent over 2013, stuff according to the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE). With starting salaries averaging about $53,300 a year, according to a NACE survey of actual starting salaries, accounting is a great career choice. Demand for accounting jobs is also high and remain so year after year. Accountants are more satisfied with their jobs than people in any other career, generic according to one poll, with job security being the number one concern for about three quarters of all workers. About 60% said good pay was among their top concerns, while manageable working hours ranked high for 59%. Accountants ranked their own jobs highly in all the areas of top concerns.
